Description
Christ Lutheran Church, Kulpsville, has for seven years now operated a food pantry called The Shepherd’s Shelf. The Shelf now has grown to rather significant proportions. We are a part of CADCOM, a Montgomery County service agency through which significant funding comes each year. We are also a part of Philabundance and are associated with The Food Trust. Locally, The Shepherd’s Shelf is a member of a cooperative of food pantries call the Community Nutrition Coalition. The Shepherd’s Shelf has also partnered with the Penn Foundation in Sellersville to provide specialized services through their social workers to assist families to break out of the cycle of poverty. That effort was funded by the Wheatridge Foundation for three years and we are presently seeking funding to continue this service.
Our youth are regularly participants in hunger-related experiences and fund-drives. - Pr. Tom Kadel
